What is Wai Art Scape?
Wai Art Scape is an opportunity for any artist to promote themselves and their work at the Carterton Events Centre and within Wairarapa businesses.
Wai Art Scape evolved from Wai Art Space.
This reflects the change where Wai Art Space hosted participating artists solely in the Carterton Exhibition Centre, to Wai Art Scape where participating artists will have their work displayed in various shops, businesses, cafes and restaurants in the Wairarapa,
including at least one artwork being hung in the Carterton Events Center.

We plan to continue displaying new art being produced by our local artists and have the use of 3 plinths in the new Carterton Events Centre foyer specificially for Wai Art Scape.
These plinths will showcase participating artists and one artwork per Wai Art Scape artist will be displayed in the Event Centre at all times.
Up to five more art works from each exhibiting artist can be hung in various shops, businesses, cafes and restaurants in the Wairarapa by a Wai Art team and rotated each month in order to keep them ‘fresh’.

A list of participating businesses will be posted on the wall in the Carterton Events Centre and also on this website.
Wai Art will ensure a replacement artwork goes up ASAP.

How much will it cost?
The cost to the artist will be $20 per month and covers advertising, administration and travel costs.
There is a 15% commission on all artwork sales, and it is the responisibility of the exhibiting businesses to contact the artist concerned and arrange payment.
